Our Story

Over three decades ago, our family immigrated to Canada from the Azores Islands in Portugal.

We opened Galo Restaurant in Thunder Bay in an effort to share our love of Portuguese food with our community.

There was one thing we always heard over and over again as we fed everyone. Friends and neighbors, even celebrities all said: "You need to bottle this sauce!"

Decades of serving our customers made it difficult for us to close ourselves to the public. We went exclusively takeout and catering and, as a result, our customers missed our delicious sauce.

It was because of this that we worked so hard to craft our famous Galo's Piri Piri sauce once more and bring it to you!

Sweet, salty, and spicy flavors all combine to create and exciting taste experience for your palate. Great on chicken, potatoes, eggs, even cocktails; you really can use it on everything. and people do.

As much as we enjoy making it and sharing it with our family, we hope you will enjoy it and share it as well.
